Psalm 5:3 Good Mornings
Why is it so hard to wake up sometimes in the morning? Why is it so hard to spend time with the Lord? I love this verse because I find that in the morning, it is the most difficult for me to spend time with the Lord. I wake up too late or am simply “too exhausted”. Well, I stumbled across this verse one morning and I realized how true it is. It says,” In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” It’s funny because anytime that I do my devotions in the morning before I do anything else, I notice a huge change in my attitude and how I feel throughout the day. Makes sense right? Well then how come it is so easy to forget to spend time with the Lord? Not sure but I want to make sure that I am consistent in spending time with Him throughout the day, especially in the morning when it is the hardest. I notice that when I lay my requests before the Lord in the morning, I see Him work throughout the day and it makes me wait with expectation to see how He works these things out. Spending time with Him is a choice and even if we aren’t feelin’ it on a particular day, he blesses our obedience. At least that is what I have witnessed in my own life. The mornings that I don’t feel like spending time with him but I choose to in obedience are the times that he truly blesses me with Good mornings and Great days.
